British journalist Charley Ottley granted Romanian citizenship, to take oath on 6 November
British journalist and filmmaker Charley Ottley has been granted Romanian citizenship and is scheduled to take the oath of allegiance on 6 November.
The National Authority for Citizenship (ANC) announced that on 6 November, at its headquarters, a formal ceremony will take place for several foreigners who have obtained Romanian citizenship to swear their allegiance to Romania.
'The solemnity of the session (...) is reinforced by the diversity of the countries of origin of the new Romanian citizens, who come from nations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Jordan, Lebanon, Serbia, and India, confirming Romania's global vocation and the strength of its human and diplomatic ties,' ANC stated on Monday.
According to the authority, the ceremony will also include individuals who have made outstanding contributions to promoting Romanian culture, civilisation, and heritage, such as Charley Ottley, who has played a remarkable role in promoting the country's tourism, culture, and natural heritage worldwide.
